Safety
According to the website RobotWorx another of the reasons why robots are used in the industrial industry is because they can do tasks that are dangerous for workers. By using industrial robots human workers don't have to do tasks that are complicated and very dangerous. Industrial robots can be designed and programmed in a any way so that it suits the task that the robot will be doing. In figure 2 below we can see two industrial robots cutting the metal frame of a car. This task can be very dangerous for a human to do. By using industrial robots there's no dangerous of having a human casualty since robots are the ones doing the job. If an accident happens, which is not very likely, it will be between the robots and not humans. Is better to get a robot replaced than a human being. Figure 3 shows a graph given from the U.S. Department of Labor and it shows the number of fatal work injuries in the United States. By examining the table we can make two conclusions. The number of fatal work injuries just in the United States is very high. We have a lot of people dying at their jobs, when jobs should be a safe thing to do. Another conclusion that we can make is that the number of fatal work injuries per year is actually decreasing over the years. As we saw so is the number of robots. What does this mean? Well we can make the inference that because robots are doing the dangerous tasks that human used to do, we have less human casualties at the work force.
