Economy
Many believe that use of industrial robots affects our economy in a bad way that the number of unemployment increases. Studies have proven that this actually not true. According to the International Federation of Robots, the IFR, and a study conducted by "METRA MARTECH Limited, London, UK, found that more than two million jobs will be created in the next eight years because of robotics in industry" (Lydon, 2013). Some jobs may be lost by the rise of industrial robots but new jobs will be created. Robots need manufactures, need programmers, and other software engineers. With the rise of robotics there's also a rise of a need of computer and robotic jobs. Jobs are not lost with robots, but gained. The best thing of this is that the new jobs that are being created with the rise of robots are better paid than those lost in the work industry. This instead of affecting the economy in a bad way, it's of a great benefit. According the IFR "3 to 5 jobs are created per robot in use" (Lydon, 2013). In figure 4 below we can see that daily robots create more than 1000 jobs. Robots may be expensive to build but at the long run they provide a lot of savings. Work industries invest a lot of money in robots but at the long run the savings are so much greater than the investment, helping out the economy of the company and the country.
